Torchieres

A torchiere lamp is a style of lamp which has a specific kind of shade: the shade on a torchiere lamp is similar to the standard lamp shade which is like a cylinder that is open at both ends and wider at one end than the other, except that in the case of torchiere lamps, torchiere shades are at their smallest (or are closed off) at the bottom and they widen out to be their largest at the top. Torchieres are also not significantly more expensive than any other kind of lamp, as the one significant difference between a torchiere lamp and a normal lamp is the design of the shade.
